About

Saeed Akbar holds twin master’s degrees in business administration and commerce and has more than 20 years of work experience in manufacturing, management, and deployment of various technologies and their subsequent commercialization in renewable and energy-efficient verticals in Pakistan.

Akbar has extensively worked on energy-efficient product designs, feasibilities in PV, and integrated technologies in modern building structures.

Over the years, Akbar has worked on a cross section of industrial and domestic solar power systems on PPA/Built Operate or Transfer (BOOT) based undertaking.

His core skills revolve around project development, enabling financial resources, execution, and evaluation of projects on hybrid solar power solutions.

With his extensive capabilities in the hybrid solar power sector, Akbar became project director for Akhter Computer Pvt Ltd. for the highly-advanced 1st Solar Village near Islamabad, later inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan in 2005. Then, he upheld the position of CEO for Akhter Solar Ltd. and worked on a 10 MW PV Module Assembly Line in Pakistan. He has also been a local team member of the GIZ-REEE Program’s evaluation committee and received recognition as GIZ-approved Energy Manager.

Akbar was part of the technical development and implementation team for the first solar industrial water heating by NUST, Islamabad. In 2010, he established a solar water heating manufacturing unit in collaboration with a Chinese manufacturer and local industrial establishment.
